Best of Scotland 2013
Tours from Ben Doran, Dalmally & Royal Hotels
This is another super four night tour which takes in the great icons in Scottish tourism; Glen Coe, Loch Ness, the Forth Bridges, Edinburgh Castle, Oban and a Highland Concert with piper and dancers.
Firstly, we have the amazing trip via Stirling to the Forth Road Bridge, crossing from the Fife side to Edinburgh and its medieval castle. The views from the battlements are quite wonderful – make sure to get a photograph of ‘Mons Meg’ the great cannon. The castle is completely as built and houses a great trove of Scottish history and military records - you could spend days in it!
Next, we have the Optional Tour which takes you by Loch Tulla, the Moor of Rannoch and Glen Coe, crossing Loch Leven and on to Loch Ness, via Fort William. There will be plenty of time to walk down to the Loch and to enjoy lunch. On the way home we call in at the Commando Memorial and the superb panoramas across Lochaber and the Ben Nevis massif - afternoon tea at Fort William and home for dinner and entertainment.
On the last day we are off to Oban and after lunch, gather at the Corran Halls for the famous Highland Heritage MatinĂ©e with ‘Skipinnish’, together with a piper, dancers and other performers. A magnificent day is rounded off with a candlelit Highland Day Dinner.
