This is a distillation of all the great touring experiences you can have in Scotland. This tour takes in Edinburgh, the Isles of Mull and Iona, the famous Grouse distillery, the Kyles of Bute, the port of Mallaig, Glen Coe, Rannoch Moor, Oban and a lot more!
The trip to Edinburgh leaves the Hotel half an hour early and crosses the Forth Road Bridge from the North, before arriving in Edinburgh for lunch, shopping and sightseeing.
Next, we have the day to Mull and Iona, where we take the ferry from Oban. After crossing Mull, we take the wee ferry to Iona with its Abbey. Iona is one of the loveliest places in Scotland.
Our next outing is to Crieff and the ‘Famous Grouse’ distillery and exhibition – “absolutely fascinating”. The town is nice too! (8 Day only)
Tighnabruaich is a great little village in South Argyll, and the journey to and from it is quite spectacular. You will be driven along the road above the Kyles of Bute and can see over the Isle of Bute and across to Arran.
The Optional Tour takes us to the port of Mallaig where the ferries to the Hebrides are based. The harbour is colourful, spectacular and a hive of maritime activity. The journey to and from Mallaig takes in the White Sands of Morar, Glenfinnan, Ben Nevis, Fort William, Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor, a veritable overkill of scenic grandeur.
On the last day of the tour is Highland Day, with a trip to Oban and after lunch we all gather at the Corran Halls for the Highland Heritage Matinée Concert. Here we have ‘Skipinnish’ performing, with all their supporting cast. Then it’s home for a Candelit Highland Dinner and entertainment - no better day out!
